People love tartan.

If you're reading this you either love love tartan or you're looking for a belter of a gift for someone in your life with a little Scottish flair.

Us humans need clans, we're herd animals, it's how we've survived as long as we have.

We don't want to belong, we need it.

We're a small team based from a home office in the Highlands of Perthshire Scotland.

Between us we have 19 years of graphic design, print, and tartan experience. Frankly we’d have more experience, but there’s a pub round the corner and Scottish winters are looooooooong.

We may say that tartan is our passion, but really, we’re driven by the insatiable hunger to make pretty things and share them with the world.

Mostly though, we do this because of the compulsion to continue eating food.

I’m “not from around here” but I’ve been from “around here” for 20 years.

When I first arrived in Scotland, like all other foreigners do, I went to a tartan shop and asked about buying a kilt.

That red kilt, in THAT tartan.
You know the one I’m talking about.

It's the tartan that everyone who has ever seen a film, a show, or a cartoon knows by sight. It's been featured in every piece of media that has even brushed elbows with Scotland.

The Royal Stewart Tartan is iconic

“You cannae have that, you’re not a Stewart,” said the lady behind the counter. She didn’t smile, didn't explain, didn't even offer an alternative. Instead she waited in silence for me to leave.

After an uncomfortable minute I took the hint and left. I didn't ever go back.

It was only some years later when I started working in the tartan industry, that I discovered how completely wrong she was.

Historically accurate or not, people are hungry for what tartan represents: connection

Tartan represents family we chose and belonging to something bigger than just us.

However you want to use it, we’re here to help you add a little of that joy into your everyday life.
